Senior Database Administrator

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator to install, configure, maintain, and upgrade a range of database systems while ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security. The role involves close collaboration with development, infrastructure, DevOps, cloud, and security teams.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, SQLite and other databases.
• Monitor database performance, availability and health; proactively troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Perform performance tuning, query optimization, indexing and capacity planning.
• Manage backup, recovery, disaster recovery and high‑availability solutions including replication and failover.
• Implement security measures, user access management, encryption and patching.
• Automate administration tasks using PowerShell, Bash or Python.
• Provide Level 3 support for production environments and conduct root‑cause analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
• 4‑5+ years of database administration experience in production environments.
• Proven experience with database migrations, upgrades, backup/recovery and HA architectures.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, SQLite.
• SQL optimization, indexing, execution plans, partitioning, performance tuning.
• Replication, high availability, backup, disaster recovery.
• AWS RDS, Linux and Windows server environments.
• PowerShell, Bash, Shell scripting, Python.
• Monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Zabbix, SolarWinds, Redgate.
