Software Engineer Intern – Security & Compliance Platform

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Software Engineer Intern to join our Z1Compliance team. You will gain hands‑on experience building production software across the full stack, focusing on security and compliance for Linux/macOS hosts.

Key responsibilities

• Develop backend APIs in Python (FastAPI) and Go for device enrollment, authentication, and data ingestion.
• Build and maintain lightweight agents and installer scripts (Bash/Shell) that run on Linux/macOS and integrate with osquery.
• Write and optimise queries for PostgreSQL (relational data) and ClickHouse (high‑volume telemetry).
• Contribute to the React + TypeScript dashboard, adding features such as fleet views and security status tables.
• Diagnose and fix issues across services, logs, and databases, and create unit and integration tests.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience (final‑year students or recent graduates).
• Proficiency in Python or Go (knowledge of both is a plus) and basic experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
• Comfortable using Linux terminal, managing processes, permissions, and writing shell scripts.
• Familiarity with relational databases, SQL schema design, and REST API principles.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and eagerness to learn cloud and security tooling.
