Store Manager – Inventory & Operations

About the role

The Store Manager will lead all store and inventory activities for a manufacturing facility, ensuring smooth daily operations and accurate material handling. You will be responsible for budgeting, stock control, and coordination with multiple internal departments.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee factory store operations, planning and monitoring the annual store budget.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular stock verification, and reconcile physical stock with ERP data.
• Issue materials against approved requisitions, prepare material indents, and coordinate purchasing with the Procurement Department.
• Ensure all locally procured and imported materials are quality‑certified before entry.
• Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels, manage replenishment of consumables and spare parts.
• Prepare daily inventory reports and support financial reporting with the Accounts Department.
• Train, guide, and supervise store personnel on inventory control, safety, and best practices.
• Identify and implement continuous‑improvement initiatives to reduce overstocking, stock‑outs, and dead stock.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in store and inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing, steel, engineering or heavy‑industry environment.
• Proven leadership and people‑management capabilities.
• Strong analytical, planning and decision‑making skills.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with ERP‑based inventory management systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office applications.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control, stock reconciliation and physical verification.
