Assistant Brewer

About the role

The Assistant Brewer will work on‑site at a premium hospitality venue, supporting the daily brewing operations for Brew Metric’s custom microbrewery systems. Reporting to the lead brewer, you will help prepare ingredients, run brewing and fermentation processes, and ensure the final product meets quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare malt, hops and other ingredients according to Brew Metric’s recipes.
• Execute brewing, fermentation and cellaring tasks, monitoring temperature, gravity and other quality parameters.
• Clean and sanitize brewing equipment, kettles, fermenters, kegs and bottling lines.
• Keg and bottle the finished beer, maintaining accurate production records.
• Track inventory of raw materials and finished product.
• Collaborate with venue staff, chefs and the lead brewer to ensure consistent product quality.
• Assist in training sessions, tastings and suggest process improvements.

Required profile

• Foundational knowledge of brewing, including mashing, fermentation and sanitation.
• Ability to follow detailed SOPs and quality‑control guidelines.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and health‑safety regulations.
• Physical capability to lift, stand for long periods and work in a production environment.
• Effective teamwork and communication with brewers, chefs and hospitality staff.
• Basic record‑keeping skills for batches, ingredients and inventory.
• Willingness to learn new beer styles and Brew Metric’s bespoke recipes.
• Prior experience in brewing, beverage production or hospitality is an advantage.
• Relevant technical or vocational training in brewing, food science or a related field is a plus.
