Biomedical Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Biomedical Engineer to join Saanvi Commercial’s technical team in Kathmandu. The role involves ensuring the optimal performance of medical and biomedical equipment across hospitals, clinics and laboratories throughout Nepal.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission, troubleshoot, repair and maintain a range of medical devices, including ICU, operating theatre and diagnostic equipment.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and calibration in line with manufacturer guidelines.
• Respond promptly to service calls to minimise equipment downtime and prepare detailed service reports.
• Review tender technical specifications, produce compliance or variance reports and support the sales team during product demonstrations.
• Provide user training on equipment operation and basic maintenance.
• Coordinate warranty claims and complex repairs with manufacturers and manage spare‑parts inventory.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or Electronics/Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum two years of hands‑on experience servicing medical equipment, preferably in ICU, OT or diagnostic settings.
• Strong problem‑solving ability, good communication skills and willingness to travel extensively across Nepal.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and perform under pressure.
