Deputy Country Representative – UN Women, Kathmandu

About the role

The Deputy Country Representative supports the Country Representative in leading UN Women’s office in Nepal, overseeing day‑to‑day operations and ensuring effective delivery of the country programme in line with UN Women’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the programme team, finalising annual work plans and supervising daily activities.
• Lead programme conceptualisation, planning, implementation, monitoring and financial management.
• Prepare progress, quarterly, annual and donor reports, highlighting results and required actions.
• Oversee field presence, ensuring coherence with thematic areas and results‑based management tools.
• Provide strategic advice to the Country Representative and develop policy briefs and strategic papers.
• Represent UN Women in UNCT/HCT meetings, fostering inter‑agency collaboration, resource mobilisation and advocacy.
• Support the creation of strategic partnerships and resource mobilisation strategies.

Required profile

• Nepalese national.
• Extensive experience in programme design, implementation, monitoring and reporting.
• Proven ability to manage teams and oversee financial and material resources.
• Experience representing an organisation in UN system coordination and humanitarian settings.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
