Junior DevOps Engineer

About the role

You will join the Platform team as a Junior DevOps Engineer, starting with tooling, pipelines and observability under close mentorship. Over time you will grow to own production environments, taking changes from pull request to deployment while understanding each step.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and extend CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins, covering builds, tests, container image publishing and deployments to non‑production environments.
• Write and review Dockerfiles and container configurations, keeping image sizes and build times reasonable.
• Build and tune dashboards and alerts in Grafana, Azure Monitor or similar tools to surface issues before customers notice them.
• Develop scripts and small tools in Bash, PowerShell or Python to automate repetitive manual tasks.
• Keep runbooks and environment documentation up‑to‑date, including the less exciting details.
• Follow access, secrets and change‑control practices and raise concerns when something appears unsafe.

Required profile

• Comfortable using the Linux command line (files, permissions, processes, logs, basic networking).
• Ability to script in at least one language: Bash, Python or PowerShell.
• Basic understanding of containers and how they differ from virtual machines.
• Genuine curiosity and habit of reading error messages before seeking help.
• Open to learning cloud platforms, Kubernetes, infrastructure‑as‑code and related technologies.
