Procurement Officer – Hospitality Industry

About the role

The Procurement Officer is responsible for monitoring sourcing and procuring restaurant, culinary ingredients, kitchen supplies, and other necessary items to ensure the smooth functioning of restaurant operations. You will work closely with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and monitor inventory levels to maintain an efficient and cost‑effective supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Compile and summarize data to create reports, schedules, proposals, summaries, and correspondence for F&B procurement activities.
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for food products and kitchen supplies.
• Prepare and submit daily and monthly reports to the Operation & Sales manager and Restaurant Manager regarding purchasing activities.
• Coordinate with restaurant managers and chefs to understand their procurement needs.
• Track and predict primary cost influencers and market factors affecting assigned commodities.
• Contribute to strategy development by incorporating spend analysis, market dynamics, and geographic factors.
• Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure the best deals.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of stock.
• Conduct quality checks on received goods to ensure they meet restaurant standards.
• Manage consumables inventory, track purchasing behaviours, and establish monitoring controls to reduce costs.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field.

Required skills

• Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the food service industry.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of inventory management software and procurement systems.
• Ability to analyse market trends and cost drivers.
