Sort Operations Team Lead

About the role

The Sort Operations Team Lead is responsible for directing a team of sort associates in a fast‑paced logistics environment. You will ensure that items are accurately sorted by route, destination, customer, and product type while meeting productivity targets and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and coordinate a team of sort associates during daily operations.
• Provide on‑the‑job training and guidance to new and existing team members.
• Oversee sorting activities to guarantee correct routing, labeling and handling of goods.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks, mis‑sorts, missing labels, damaged items or system errors.
• Monitor hourly productivity, attendance and punctuality, and ensure targets are achieved.
• Escalate issues that could affect productivity, service levels or customer satisfaction.
• Support shift planning and resource allocation based on volume forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with safety rules and proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Monitor basic condition of sorting equipment such as conveyors, scanners, printers, cages, trolleys and labeling systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 2 years of experience in a relevant logistics or sort‑operations role.
• Willingness to work across different shifts (morning, evening, night).
• Own vehicle required for evening and night shifts.
• Ability to understand and follow standard operating procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computers and relevant software for sort operations.
• Ability to operate smartphones for communication and operational tasks.
