Medical Specialist SME – Remote AI Review Contractor

About the role

This is a remote, hourly contractor position where you will act as a Medical Doctor Subject Matter Expert (SME) for an AI data‑services company. You will review AI‑generated clinical responses, create gold‑standard medical content, and provide detailed feedback to improve the safety, accuracy, and clarity of AI models.

Key responsibilities

• Develop AI training content: craft detailed prompts and gold‑standard answers across clinical topics within your specialty.
• Evaluate AI outputs: rank and rate multiple responses for correctness, reasoning quality, safety, and clarity.
• Identify and report errors: spot inaccuracies, unsafe recommendations, bias, and missing contraindications.
• Fact‑check medical information and write clear explanations and model solutions.
• Collaborate with the AI team to continuously improve model performance and reliability.

Required profile

• MD or DO (or equivalent) with completed residency/fellowship and board eligibility or certification.
• Minimum 5 years of post‑training clinical experience in a hospital, outpatient, academic, or community setting.
• Strong expertise in advanced clinical reasoning, differential diagnosis, triage, red‑flag recognition, and escalation pathways.
• Deep knowledge of disease processes, guideline‑based care, diagnostic pathways, and patient‑safety considerations.
