Dental Hygienist

About the role

The Dental Hygienist provides professional preventive and oral hygiene care to patients under the direction of the dental team. This role involves performing dental hygiene procedures, educating patients on proper oral care, and supporting dentists in delivering quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform professional dental cleaning, scaling, polishing, and other preventive oral hygiene procedures as permitted by professional scope.
• Assist dentists during examinations, procedures, and other clinical activities when required.
• Assess patients' oral hygiene conditions and identify areas requiring attention.
• Educate patients on proper brushing, flossing, oral hygiene practices, and preventive dental care.
• Maintain accurate records of dental hygiene procedures and patient information.
• Prepare and maintain dental instruments, equipment, and treatment areas.
• Follow proper sterilization, infection‑control, and clinical safety procedures.
• Monitor patients during procedures and report any concerns or abnormalities to the dentist.
• Support patient education and awareness programs related to oral and dental health.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic clinical environment.

Required profile

• CDS qualification as specified by the hospital and relevant registration/licensing.
• Previous experience as a Dental Hygienist (preferred).
• Practical knowledge of dental hygiene procedures and infection‑control protocols.
• Strong communication and patient‑handling skills.
• Pleasant, professional, and patient‑friendly personality.
