Head of Mining – Granite Operations

About the role

The Head of Mining – Granite Operations will lead all quarry activities in Nepal, ensuring safe, efficient and cost‑effective production while meeting quality and regulatory standards. Reporting to the Managing Director/CEO, you will drive strategic planning, operational excellence and continuous improvement across the entire mining value chain.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage granite quarry operations to achieve production, quality, safety and cost targets.
• Develop mine plans, production schedules and quarry development strategies, optimizing block recovery.
• Oversee drilling, excavation, loading, equipment utilization, manpower planning and contractor management.
• Monitor operational costs, equipment productivity and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with mining regulations, environmental standards and health & safety requirements.
• Coordinate with Geologists, Surveyors, Maintenance, Commercial and Logistics teams for seamless operations.
• Prepare production reports, budgets, forecasts and operational updates for senior management.
• Lead, mentor and develop mining teams while supporting new quarry development and expansion projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
• 18–25 years of experience in granite or dimension‑stone mining, including large‑scale quarry management.
• First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate preferred.
