Logistics Manager – Cookstove Distribution

About the role

The Distribution/Logistics Manager will lead the planning and execution of cookstove logistics in Kathmandu, overseeing warehouse coordination, field distribution, transportation, and local team deployment. This role ensures that eligible households receive stoves on schedule and that all activities comply with project standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage stove distribution plans, logistics schedules, delivery routes and transportation arrangements.
• Coordinate warehouse operations, including stock control, inbound/outbound records, loading/unloading and inventory reconciliation.
• Supervise distribution team members, field assistants, transporters, loaders and temporary field staff.
• Liaise with municipalities, ward offices, community representatives and local partners for household‑level distribution.
• Verify beneficiary eligibility, collect receipts and manage QR/barcode or digital records for each delivery.
• Monitor field progress, identify bottlenecks, resolve logistics issues and report daily/weekly updates to management.
• Support field safety, staff travel, accommodation planning and operational risk management.
• Ensure all activities follow company SOPs, project requirements and carbon project documentation standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, distribution, supply chain, warehouse or field operations.
• Proven ability to manage field teams, transportation vendors and multi‑location distribution.
• Strong planning, coordination, reporting and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Experience in development projects, NGOs, rural distribution, FMCG or construction logistics is an advantage.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Willingness to travel frequently and relocate temporarily during distribution periods.
