Procurement Officer

About the role

The Procurement Officer will manage day‑to‑day procurement activities for the organization, ensuring that materials, equipment, products and services are obtained in a timely, cost‑effective and quality‑focused manner. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Procurement & Logistics, the role works closely with internal departments, the warehouse and external suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and verify purchase requisitions, source suitable suppliers and obtain multiple quotations.
• Prepare quotation comparison statements, coordinate purchase order preparation and processing.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure on‑time delivery and verify receipt, quantity, quality and specifications with the warehouse.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure activities stay within approved budgets and timelines.
• Identify, register and update approved suppliers, monitor performance and maintain professional vendor relationships.
• Conduct market research, compare prices, support negotiations and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Document all procurement transactions, including historical price records for future planning.

Required profile

• Ability to source suppliers, evaluate quotations and coordinate purchase orders.
• Strong organizational skills to track deliveries, maintain records and ensure compliance with procurement policies.
• Experience in communicating with suppliers regarding specifications, pricing, delivery schedules and commercial terms.
• Capability to monitor supplier performance and report issues promptly.
