Senior Account Officer – Aftersales

About the role

The Senior Account Officer will oversee day‑to‑day accounting for the aftersales division of a reputable automobile company. You will ensure accurate financial records, compliance with tax regulations, and support efficient financial management of service and parts operations.

Key responsibilities

• Record all financial transactions, prepare journal vouchers, and maintain general and subsidiary ledgers.
• Perform daily cash and bank reconciliations and ensure timely posting of receipts and payments.
• Monitor customer receivables, follow up on outstanding payments, and process supplier invoices and vendor payments.
• Reconcile spare‑parts inventory with physical stock, verify inventory adjustments, and coordinate with the Parts Department.
• Validate service invoices, job‑card billing, labor charges, and warranty claim accounting.
• Prepare VAT records, support TDS calculations, and maintain documentation for audits and tax inspections.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Management.
• 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in an automobile dealership or aftersales environment.
• Familiarity with ERP or accounting software.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS).
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as SAP, NAV, Swastik, PBRAIN ERP, Tally or similar dealership management tools.
• Understanding of VAT and income‑tax regulations.
• Inventory accounting and financial reporting skills.
