Senior Financial Management Officer

About the role

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is seeking a Senior Financial Management Officer to join its Financial Management Division at the Nepal Resident Mission in Kathmandu. The role supports ADB’s mission to reduce poverty and promote sustainable development across the Asia‑Pacific region by providing expert financial management services throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial due diligence for project processing, including assessments, cost estimates, financing plans, risk‑mitigation measures and covenant design.
• Support project implementation through financial management review missions, monitoring action plans, and coordinating with executing agencies.
• Conduct annual project financial statement (APFS) and audited entity financial statement (AEFS) reviews, ensuring compliance with financial covenants and quality standards.
• Participate in country partnership strategies, governance and public financial management assessments, and help design regional FM work plans.
• Facilitate knowledge‑sharing and capacity‑building activities, develop and deliver FM training for executing agencies on ADB requirements.
• Oversee junior team members and contribute to other tasks as defined in the workplan.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
• Relevant experience in financial management of development projects.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment and travel to other developing member countries as needed.

Required skills

• Knowledge of public financial management systems and capacity‑building methodologies.
