Store Manager – Photography & Retail Operations

About the role

The Store Manager – Photography & Retail Operations leads daily store activities, drives profitability, and ensures an exceptional customer experience in a photography‑focused retail environment. This position blends retail management with deep knowledge of camera equipment, studio lighting, and digital imaging workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Drive store profitability, meet sales targets, and manage POS transactions, cash reconciliation, and financial reporting.
• Oversee inventory control, regular audits, re‑ordering, shrink prevention, and tracking of high‑value gear.
• Provide expert advice on cameras, lenses, lighting rigs, audio gear, and accessories; assist customers across skill levels and budgets.
• Manage in‑store services such as photo printing, sensor cleaning, passport photos, and gear testing setups.
• Supervise equipment rental desk, inspect and calibrate gear, and coordinate studio bookings.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and mentor sales associates and photo technicians; set KPIs and conduct performance reviews.
• Plan local events, product demos, photo walks, and workshops; engage with photographers, agencies, schools, and clubs.
