Area Sales Manager – Pipes, Cement & Building Materials

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, target‑oriented Area Sales Manager to lead sales operations and business development for pipes, cement and related building‑material products within a defined territory. The role involves driving revenue, expanding market coverage and strengthening relationships with dealers, distributors and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual targets.
• Manage sales activities across the assigned geographical area and identify growth opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers, distributors, retailers, contractors and builders.
• Appoint and develop new dealers and distributors to expand market coverage.
• Conduct regular market visits to understand customer needs, competitor actions and market trends.
• Ensure product availability, distribution and visibility throughout the territory.
• Monitor dealer and distributor sales, stock levels, outstanding payments and order requirements.
• Generate new business, expand the customer base and follow up on quotations, orders, deliveries and payments.
• Negotiate prices, commercial terms and promotional activities within company guidelines.
• Coordinate with logistics and internal teams to ensure timely product delivery.
• Track competitor pricing, products, promotions and provide feedback to management.
• Handle customer complaints and coordinate quick resolutions.
• Prepare regular sales and market reports.
• Support promotional campaigns, dealer meetings and product awareness activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Management or related field (preferred).
• 3–7 years of sales experience, preferably in hardware, pipes, cement or building‑materials.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
• Strong knowledge of dealers, distributors, retailers, contractors and construction markets.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship‑management abilities.
