Biomedical Assistant

About the role

The Biomedical Assistant will support the design, installation, maintenance and evaluation of biomedical equipment and software used for diagnosis and treatment. Working closely with clinicians and engineering teams, you will ensure devices operate safely, efficiently and in compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install, calibrate and maintain biomedical machines, equipment and associated software.
• Evaluate safety, efficiency and effectiveness of biomedical devices.
• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance as needed.
• Maintain up‑to‑date service histories for all equipment.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to understand technical requirements and provide support.
• Conduct research, data analysis and risk assessments to improve systems and processes.
• Participate in product development cycles from concept to commercialization, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Support quality control and assurance activities for biomedical products.
• Prepare reports, protocols and documentation on equipment use, maintenance and repairs.
• Disseminate knowledge through training, teaching or consulting.

Required profile

• At least 12 months of experience working with biomedical equipment or related fields.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to assess risk and implement mitigation strategies.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with clinicians, engineers and cross‑functional teams.
• Commitment to ethical standards and best practices in biomedical engineering.
