Business Development Officer

About the role

The Business Development Officer will drive growth of the agency’s institutional and corporate insurance portfolio. Acting as a consultative B2B professional, you will identify prospects, understand their risk‑management needs, and craft tailored insurance solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop prospective institutional and corporate clients across multiple sectors.
• Generate and maintain a structured corporate prospect database and sales pipeline.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, insurance products, and pricing developments.
• Conduct corporate visits, meetings, presentations, networking, and business development activities.
• Generate target‑driven business through direct approaches, referrals, strategic partnerships, and industry events.
• Prepare and execute monthly and quarterly business development plans.
• Identify insurance gaps and communicate them professionally to clients.
• Coordinate with insurance companies to obtain quotations and coverage options.
• Prepare client‑specific proposals based on requirements and appropriate solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Management.
• 1–2 years of experience in corporate sales, insurance, or related financial institutions.
• Strong commercial communication, relationship‑building, and consultative selling abilities.
• Professional presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, handle pressure, and meet targets.
• Willingness to travel daily within Kathmandu Valley and beyond, and to work beyond normal office hours when required.
• Valid driving licence and access to a two‑wheeler.
