Commis Chef – Bakery/Pastry

About the role

The Commis Chef – Bakery/Pastry is a full‑time, on‑site position at our Budhanilkantha resort. You will assist senior chefs in preparing, baking and presenting a variety of breads, pastries, desserts and other baked goods to meet our hotel standards.

Key responsibilities

• Follow recipes accurately, measure and mix ingredients.
• Operate bakery equipment safely and maintain cleanliness.
• Prepare and present pastries, breads and desserts with consistent taste, texture and appearance.
• Support senior chefs during service and assist with inventory and mise en place.
• Adhere to food safety, hygiene and sanitation guidelines.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure quality, portion control and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Foundational knowledge of bakery and pastry preparation techniques.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced kitchen, manage time effectively and support teammates during peak periods.
• Strong attention to detail in product quality, presentation and consistency.
• Willingness to learn from senior chefs, adapt to hotel standards and accept constructive feedback.
• Basic culinary training or certification in bakery/pastry preferred; relevant practical experience is also valued.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and holidays as required.
