Community Coordinator

About the role

The Community Coordinator will support All Hands & Hearts’ disaster‑recovery programmes by building trusted relationships with affected communities and facilitating their active participation throughout project cycles. This full‑time position works closely with program, technical and MEAL teams to ensure community‑driven planning, implementation and learning.

Key responsibilities

• Engage community members, local authorities, schools and partner organisations to foster inclusive participation.
• Map community structures, identify vulnerable groups and establish representative community committees.
• Coordinate participant selection, verification processes and community‑committee meetings.
• Deliver participatory training on Disaster Risk Reduction, WASH, MHM, First Aid, child rights, safeguarding and environmental awareness.
• Communicate project objectives, timelines and milestones clearly to communities and manage expectations.
• Collect and monitor community feedback, ensuring it informs project adjustments and learning outcomes.
• Support cultural awareness training for staff and volunteers.

Required profile

• Preferably a Nepali national with experience in community mobilisation or humanitarian programmes.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated ability to work in culturally diverse and post‑disaster settings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and local languages.
