Project Manager – Child Recovery Initiative (Humanitarian)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the design and implementation of a child‑focused recovery programme for communities affected by recent floods in the districts of Rasuwa, Nawalparasi and Dhading. The role combines field research, needs assessment, coordination with multiple stakeholders and the delivery of evidence‑based interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct field research and comprehensive needs assessments across the target districts.
• Develop assessment tools, research methodologies and detailed fieldwork plans.
• Identify and verify severely affected children and families, collect and manage beneficiary data securely.
• Analyse education, health, protection, psychosocial, social and economic needs and flag urgent cases.
• Coordinate with government agencies, municipalities, schools, NGOs, CBOs, health providers and local communities to map existing services and gaps.
• Prepare evidence‑based recommendations, work plans, implementation schedules and monitoring frameworks.
• Lead field teams, monitor project progress and produce donor‑facing reports and documentation.
• Maintain confidential and accurate project records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Sociology, Rural Development, Public Administration, Education, Project Management or a related field.
• 3‑5+ years of experience in project management, field research, humanitarian response or community development.
• Proven experience coordinating with government and community stakeholders.
• Experience working with children, vulnerable families or disaster‑affected communities is an advantage.
• Fluency in Nepali and working proficiency in English.
• Willingness to travel frequently to remote field locations and work in challenging conditions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Experience using digital data‑collection tools.
