Dental Hygienist

About the role

The Dental Hygienist will deliver professional preventive and oral hygiene care to patients under the supervision of the dental team. This role combines clinical procedures, patient education, and support for dentists to ensure high‑quality dental services.

Key responsibilities

• Perform professional dental cleaning, scaling, polishing, and other preventive oral hygiene procedures within the scope of practice.
• Assist dentists during examinations, procedures, and other clinical activities as needed.
• Assess patients' oral hygiene status and identify areas requiring attention.
• Educate patients on proper brushing, flossing, and preventive dental care, providing individualized instructions.
• Maintain accurate records of hygiene procedures and patient information.
• Prepare, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments, equipment, and treatment areas.
• Monitor patients during procedures and report any concerns to the dentist.
• Support patient education programs related to oral and dental health.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and hygienic clinical environment and adhere to hospital protocols and ethical guidelines.
• Coordinate effectively with dentists, dental assistants, counsellors, and other clinical staff.

Required profile

• CDS qualification as specified by the hospital and relevant professional registration/licensing.
• Previous experience as a Dental Hygienist preferred.
• Practical knowledge of dental hygiene procedures and infection‑control protocols.
• Strong communication and patient‑handling skills with a professional, patient‑friendly demeanor.
• Attention to detail, ability to work effectively within a dental care team.
• Experience in a dental hospital or clinic is an advantage.
