Deputy General Manager (Operations & Governance)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Deputy General Manager to lead governance, finance, people, and external affairs for our Nepal entity. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will ensure compliance with statutory regulations, drive financial performance, and support business development across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Manage company registration, annual renewal, PAN, VAT, Social Security Fund, employment contracts, and attendance compliance.
• Oversee visas, work permits, statutory audits, and regulatory filings.
• Maintain banking relationships, cross‑border settlements, profit repatriation, and annual budgeting in line with group policies.
• Lead recruitment, development, and retention of engineering and digital talent; oversee workforce planning, quality systems, premises, assets, and information security.
• Screen project opportunities, build relationships with government authorities, conduct due‑diligence on counterparties, and support commercial development.
• Ensure resources, delivery schedules, and operational discipline for project execution across country nodes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Science, Business, Law, Accountancy or related field.
• Nepali national and long‑term resident of the Kathmandu Valley.
• Proven experience managing cross‑border financial operations, foreign‑invested entity registration, bank account opening, offshore service income, and profit repatriation.
• Experience leading a team of 20+ employees and owning an annual organizational budget.
• Strong knowledge of Nepal’s statutory, regulatory, banking and business environment.
• Excellent English communication skills; Chinese language skills are a plus.
• Background in power, hydropower, infrastructure, data centres or cross‑border engineering services is advantageous.
