Field Facilitation Support – Nepal Project

About the role

FAO Nepal is recruiting two Field Facilitation Support staff to provide day‑to‑day field facilitation and technical assistance for the “Strengthening Agrifood Systems in Nepal” project. Working under the Assistant FAO Representative (Programme) and the Project Coordinator, the role will support implementation activities in the hill and mountain municipalities of Kavrepalanchok and Ilam districts.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing municipality‑level implementation schedules and activity plans based on approved workplans.
• Support transparent beneficiary identification, verification and mobilization, maintaining disaggregated records.
• Conduct baseline surveys, field assessments, value‑chain assessments and other data‑collection exercises.
• Organise trainings, demonstrations, farmer field activities, nutrition campaigns and related logistical arrangements.
• Disseminate technical information on climate‑smart and nutrition‑sensitive agriculture, agroecology, soil fertility, integrated pest management, water‑use efficiency and food safety.
• Maintain project documentation, including attendance records, participant profiles, photographs, geotagged data and beneficiary feedback.
• Track distribution of inputs, equipment, irrigation systems and other assets, and support user orientation and monitoring.
• Compile progress reports, supporting documentation and evidence for project outputs and indicators.

Required skills

• Knowledge of climate‑smart agriculture practices.
• Understanding of nutrition‑sensitive agriculture.
• Experience with agroecological practices and soil fertility management.
• Familiarity with integrated pest management techniques.
• Ability to promote water‑use efficiency and food safety measures.
