Finance Assistant

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) seeks a Finance Assistant to provide finance support services for its mission in Kathmandu, Nepal. The role supports the Head of Resources Management Officer and the National Finance Officer in delivering timely and accurate financial operations for disaster response and migration programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Review and verify supporting documentation, signatures, and invoices before processing payment vouchers, ensuring goods or services have been received.
• Perform Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Accounting Reviewer functions using the WAVE system, maintaining organized records.
• Reconcile vendor accounts, monitor payable/receivable balances, and ensure timely clearing of transactions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce or related field (or high school diploma with two years relevant experience).
• Minimum two years of professional experience with knowledge of financial and cash management.
• Fluency in English and Nepali (oral and written).

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in word processing applications.
• Experience using the WAVE accounting system.
