Internal Audit & Compliance Lead

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Internal Audit & Compliance Lead to oversee audit engagements, strengthen internal controls, and ensure that audit recommendations lead to tangible operational improvements. The role works closely with senior management and department heads to embed a culture of compliance, risk awareness, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate internal and external audit engagements, acting as the primary liaison between auditors, management, and business teams.
• Develop and manage the annual internal audit calendar, ensuring timely execution of audit activities.
• Review audit findings, prioritize key risks, and drive timely closure of observations and corrective actions.
• Monitor compliance with company policies, SOPs, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify operational and compliance risks, control gaps, and process inefficiencies, recommending practical improvements.
• Collaborate with department heads to strengthen governance, risk management, and accountability.
• Support the development and enhancement of policies, SOPs, process documentation, and internal control frameworks.
• Prepare and present periodic audit status reports, dashboards, and risk updates to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in internal audit, compliance, risk management, or process improvement.
• Semi‑qualified CA or qualified CA (ICAN/ICAI) preferred.
• Strong understanding of internal controls, audit methodologies, compliance practices, and business processes.
• Proven ability to assess control effectiveness, identify risks, and recommend actionable improvements.
• Excellent analytical, documentation, reporting, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work with senior management and cross‑functional teams.
