IT Trainee – One-year Traineeship

About the role

World Vision International Nepal is offering a one‑year IT traineeship for recent graduates. The role provides hands‑on experience supporting the organization’s IT infrastructure, helping staff with hardware, software and network needs while developing professional skills in a humanitarian environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and image new desktop and laptop computers with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office.
• Set up and maintain peripherals such as printers, scanners and digital photocopiers.
• Configure wired and wireless LAN connections and ensure reliable Internet access for staff devices.
• Provide first‑level (L1) technical support to end‑users both on‑site and remotely, including troubleshooting hardware, software and connectivity issues.
• Log and track incidents in the service‑management platform, resolve where possible and escalate complex cases to senior staff.
• Coordinate with vendors for repair and maintenance of IT equipment and verify functionality before deployment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a willingness to learn.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows 10/11 operating systems.
• Experience using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Basic knowledge of networking concepts, TCP/IP and LAN/Wi‑Fi configuration.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software and network connectivity problems.
• Familiarity with ticketing or service‑management platforms.
