About the role
The Diplomat Nepal is offering a six‑month, full‑time paid internship for aspiring journalists. Interns will work closely with the editorial team, gaining hands‑on experience in news reporting, feature writing, diplomatic journalism and digital media production.
Key responsibilities
- Research and develop story ideas on diplomacy, foreign affairs and current events.
- Attend and report on press conferences, diplomatic events, seminars and public programmes.
- Conduct interviews with diplomats, government officials, experts and other stakeholders.
- Write news reports, feature articles, interview pieces and background stories.
- Assist the editorial team with fact‑checking, research and content development.
- Monitor national and international developments relevant to Nepal.
- Contribute content for the website, e‑magazine and social‑media platforms.
- Develop skills in headline writing, news structure, copy editing and digital journalism.
