Junior Finance Officer

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Junior Finance Officer to support the finance and accounting functions of a manufacturing organization. The role involves handling day‑to‑day financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with procurement, inventory, sales and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial and accounting records and update transactions promptly.
• Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash and bank transactions, and general ledger entries.
• Prepare and verify invoices, payment documents, receipts, vouchers and other financial records.
• Assist with purchase, sales, inventory and production‑related accounting transactions.
• Coordinate with procurement, inventory, sales and operations regarding financial documentation.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and payables and follow up as needed.
• Perform regular bank and cash reconciliations and identify discrepancies.
• Track and record inventory costs, raw materials, finished goods and other manufacturing expenses.
• Support monthly closing activities and preparation of financial reports.
• Assist with budgeting, expense tracking and variance analysis.
• Maintain proper documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
• Prepare data and documents for internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Management or a related field.
• 2–3 years of finance/accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or trading environment.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial documentation.
• Familiarity with inventory, purchase, sales and cost‑related accounting.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities with attention to detail.
• Effective communication, coordination and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP/accounting software such as Tally or SAP.
• Understanding of VAT, tax and statutory financial documentation.
