Legal and Compliance Officer

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Legal and Compliance Officer to provide expert legal advice and ensure regulatory compliance across our operations in Kathmandu. The role involves supporting management on corporate matters, handling statutory filings, and safeguarding the company against legal risks.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and support to management on corporate and business matters.
• Ensure compliance with Nepalese laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Handle company law matters, OCR filings, corporate documentation, and maintain statutory records.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
• Monitor regulatory changes and maintain a compliance calendar.
• Coordinate with external lawyers, government authorities, and regulatory bodies.
• Manage legal notices, disputes, litigation records, and related coordination.
• Support corporate governance, board matters, and internal compliance reviews.
• Identify legal/compliance risks and recommend corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.); a Master’s or professional qualification is an advantage.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in corporate law, legal compliance, or company law.
• Strong knowledge of Nepalese corporate and commercial laws.
• Excellent legal drafting, contract review, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Good command of Nepali and English with strong documentation abilities.
• Experience in a corporate/public limited company or regulated industry is a plus.
