Matron – Nursing Department Leader

About the role

The hospital is looking for an experienced Matron to provide strategic leadership to the Nursing Department. The role involves ensuring safe, high‑quality, evidence‑based nursing care while driving clinical excellence and compliance with healthcare standards.

Key responsibilities

• Participate as a member of the Management Team and support hospital administration on nursing matters.
• Assess staffing needs across service outlets and assign nurses according to education, skills, and experience.
• Recommend upgrades or changes to clinical services and facilities.
• Maintain accurate personnel records and advise on career advancement for nursing staff.
• Ensure discipline, quality care, and proper documentation throughout the hospital.
• Plan and request necessary supplies through standard procedures.
• Act as liaison between management and nursing staff, responding to emergency calls and hospital issues.
• Develop and deliver in‑service training programs to enhance nursing competencies.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of nursing experience, with at least two years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and promote continuous quality improvement.
• Strong understanding of nursing standards, patient‑centered care, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and mentorship skills.
