Consultant – Revise Pre-Departure Orientation Training Package

About the role

The consultant will support the revision of Nepal's Pre-Departure Orientation Training (PDOT) package, integrating health‑related topics such as climate‑health risks, occupational safety, and mental well‑being. The role involves desk research, country‑specific data analysis, stakeholder consultations, and drafting practical, user‑friendly training materials for outbound migrant workers.

Key responsibilities

• Review the existing PDOT package and identify gaps related to health, climate, and occupational safety.
• Conduct desk reviews and country‑specific data analysis to inform revisions.
• Facilitate multi‑stakeholder consultations with FEB, MoHFS, MoYLE, and other partners.
• Draft the revised health orientation package, including IEC/BCC materials, facilitator guides, and audio‑visual scripts.
• Coordinate with the Project Implementation Committee and Technical Working Group to ensure alignment with national policies.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (master’s or higher) in public health, health education, occupational health, health policy or related field.
• Minimum three years of professional experience in public health, health promotion, migration health, or training curriculum development.
• Proven experience developing or revising training curricula, manuals, IEC materials, or technical guidance documents.
• Experience working with Nepalese government agencies such as MoHFS, MoYLE, or FEB.
• Fluency in English and Nepali (spoken and written).

Required skills

• Strong analytical, synthesis and technical writing abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Ability to translate technical health evidence into simple, actionable messages for low‑literacy audiences.
• Experience facilitating multi‑stakeholder consultations and incorporating feedback.
