Operations and Business Development Manager

About the role

The Operations and Business Development Manager will lead and strengthen NECC's operational functions while supporting its next stage of development. This senior leadership role works closely with senior management and Japanese partner organizations to translate strategy into effective operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day organizational operations, turning strategic objectives into clear operational plans and measurable results.
• Establish and improve systems, procedures, workflows and performance standards across academic, administrative and business functions.
• Monitor performance, identify improvement opportunities and ensure sustainable growth.
• Coordinate and develop cross‑functional teams, setting responsibilities, performance expectations and reporting mechanisms.
• Lead communication and business coordination with Japanese partner organizations, participating in negotiations, meetings and candidate selection.
• Oversee candidate preparation for international employment, including language education, cultural orientation and interview preparation.
• Identify and manage operational, regulatory, financial and reputational risks, ensuring compliance with laws, policies and agreements.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen programs, partnerships and institutional capabilities, supporting new initiatives and international collaborations.
