Project Incharge – Plant Operations & Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking a senior operational leader to oversee plant operations and maintenance for a 48.8 MW hydroelectric project in Ramechhap, Nepal. The role combines technical oversight, team management, and community liaison to ensure reliable power generation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Operations and Maintenance team, develop and enforce standard operating procedures for continuous generation.
• Diagnose asset vulnerabilities and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce forced outages.
• Monitor daily generation logs, optimise water‑to‑wire efficiency and troubleshoot generation losses promptly.
• Manage intake structures and powerhouse assets, ensuring structural safety and operational integrity.
• Coordinate engineers and technicians for 24/7 operations, fostering a safety‑first culture.
• Serve as the primary liaison with local communities, municipal authorities and regulatory bodies, handling expectations and relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; advanced degrees or certifications in hydropower operations are a plus.
• Minimum 8 years of verified experience in the hydropower sector with a strong operational leadership background.
• Demonstrated knowledge of electrical engineering concepts such as plant protection and synchronization.
• Expert understanding of turbine mechanics and overall hydropower systems.
• Proven crisis leadership and stakeholder diplomacy abilities.
