QA Automation Engineer II

About the role

We are looking for a proactive QA Automation Engineer II to design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for web UI and API layers, leveraging AI tools to boost testing efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable end‑to‑end automated tests for web UIs using JavaScript‑based tools such as Playwright or Cypress.
• Build and maintain API automation frameworks with REST Assured (Java).
• Write clean, reusable test scripts for functional, regression, integration and performance validation.
• Create and execute E2E test scenarios covering full user workflows and system integrations.
• Use AI assistants (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT) to accelerate test creation and improve coverage.
• Review automation code to ensure quality and adherence to best practices.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers and QA teams to define test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
• Perform manual testing when needed to complement automation.
• Troubleshoot test failures, analyse logs, reproduce bugs and document issues.
• Integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Azure Pipelines, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Keep documentation up‑to‑date for test cases, frameworks, data and results.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to QA standards and AI‑driven testing practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
• 2–3 years of hands‑on test automation experience for web applications and APIs.
• Strong proficiency with JavaScript‑based automation tools (Playwright, Cypress or equivalents).
• Experience with REST Assured (Java) for API testing.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Azure Pipelines, Jenkins, GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
• Good understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC and Agile practices.
• Ability to review code and improve test quality.
• Strong debugging, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
