Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to lead our Accounts & Finance team and oversee all accounting, reporting, and tax activities for our trading company. The role requires a detail‑oriented professional who can manage day‑to‑day financial operations and ensure compliance with Nepalese regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting transactions and financial operations.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage VAT returns, TDS, income‑tax filings and other statutory requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of sales, purchases, expenses, receivables, payables and cash/bank movements.
• Perform regular bank, supplier, customer and ledger reconciliations.
• Monitor accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash flow and outstanding balances.
• Handle accounting for trading, imports, inventory and supplier transactions.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Coordinate with auditors, banks, tax authorities and other stakeholders.
• Identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare MIS, management reports and financial analysis to support decisions.
• Supervise and review the work of the Accounts & Finance team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a trading/import environment.
• Strong knowledge of Nepalese tax and statutory compliance.
• Proven experience in accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliation and financial closing.
• Leadership, analytical and team‑management abilities.
• Capability to independently manage the entire Accounts & Finance function.
