Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

About the role

The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer will own quality for new healthcare client integrations, validating end‑to‑end EDI claim flows and protecting live clients from regression. The role combines deep manual and analytical testing with the design and maintenance of automated regression suites, working closely with engineering, platform, and client‑facing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Set and run the test strategy for new client activations, from requirement review through UAT and go‑live.
• Validate EDI claim flows end‑to‑end and safeguard platform quality across internal and vendor teams.
• Perform root‑cause analysis on defects, tracing malformed output to transformations, configurations, code, or environment issues.
• Design, build and maintain automated regression suites for data flows, contributing test code that passes peer review.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of software quality assurance experience, with at least 2 years in healthcare EDI or claims processing.
• Strong knowledge of US healthcare domain, HIPAA, PHI/PII and X12 transaction sets (837I/837P, 999, 278N, 277CA, 834, 835).
• Experience reviewing Scala/Java code changes, estimating QA effort and coordinating work across internal and vendor QA teams.

Required skills

• SQL (PostgreSQL) and MongoDB query proficiency.
• Test automation language/framework (e.g., Java/Scala) and CI/CD pipeline literacy.
• Test case management tools (TestRail, Zephyr, Xray) and defect tracking in Jira.
• Version control with Git (GitHub/GitLab) and familiarity with SFTP/FTP and encryption (PGP).
• REST API testing using tools such as Postman.
• Data‑flow orchestration experience (Apache NiFi) and ETL workflow knowledge.
• Cron and Quartz scheduling constructs.
