Sourcing & Procurement Officer

About the role

The Sourcing & Procurement Officer will manage the end‑to‑end sourcing process, focusing on international suppliers, especially in China, to ensure quality, cost‑effectiveness and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Source products and suppliers based on customer and business requirements.
• Identify and evaluate manufacturers, factories, and trading companies, particularly in China.
• Research suppliers through platforms such as Alibaba, 1688, Made‑in‑China, and Global Sources.
• Obtain and compare quotations and negotiate price, MOQ, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate product samples, specifications, quality requirements, and supplier approvals.
• Prepare purchase orders and maintain procurement records.
• Follow up with suppliers regarding production and order status.
• Coordinate with freight forwarding, customs, and logistics teams for shipment arrangements.
• Monitor delivery timelines and resolve supplier or procurement‑related issues.
• Maintain updated supplier information, quotation records, and sourcing reports.
• Monitor market prices, products, and supplier developments.
• Coordinate with Sales, Finance, Operations, and Logistics teams for smooth order execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, International Business, Procurement, Logistics or a related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in sourcing, procurement or international trading.
• Practical experience in China sourcing is highly preferred.

Required skills

• Strong supplier sourcing and negotiation abilities.
• Knowledge of Chinese sourcing platforms and international procurement processes.
• Understanding of OEM/ODM, MOQ, Incoterms and import/export procedures.
• Good English communication and documentation skills.
• Strong analytical, coordination and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with ERP or procurement software.
• Mandarin/Chinese language ability is an added advantage.
