Accountant – General & Manufacturing Accounting

About the role

We are looking for an Accountant to manage general accounting, bookkeeping, factory/manufacturing accounting, inventory management, tax-related records, and financial reconciliations. The role will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records, monitoring inventory and production costs, preparing TDS and VAT-related data, and coordinating with production and warehouse teams.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate books of accounts.
• Enter transactions accurately into the company's accounting software.
• Record all sales, purchases, expenses, receipts and payments on a daily basis.
• Maintain cash book, bank book, journal, ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
• Follow up outstanding customer balances and supplier payments.
• Ensure proper classification of capital expenditure, revenue expenditure, inventory and other expenses.
• Prepare TDS schedules and coordinate timely deposit/filing.
• Prepare VAT return data and coordinate timely filing.
• Maintain tax-related records and reconciliations.
• Maintain employee salary records.
• Prepare daily/periodic cash reports.
• Maintain raw material, packaging material, work‑in‑progress and finished goods records.
• Record material received from suppliers and issued to production.
• Maintain production consumption records and coordinate with production staff for daily/weekly data.
• Calculate cost of production and determine product‑wise/unit‑wise manufacturing cost.
• Maintain records of production wastage, rejected, damaged and expired goods.
• Reconcile physical inventory with accounting records.
• Compare actual production cost with previous periods/budget.
• Maintain stock ledger for all raw materials and finished‑goods stock records.
• Record all inward and outward movements of inventory and conduct periodic physical stock counts.
• Prepare stock reconciliation reports and ensure proper documentation for stock transfers between production and warehouse.
