Assistant Chief Engineer

About the role

The Assistant Chief Engineer will support the Chief Engineer in overseeing the operation, maintenance, safety and reliability of all mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems at the Lemon Tree Bandipur hotel and its associated facilities. This full‑time, onsite position is based in Bandipur, Nepal and requires a hands‑on professional who can manage complex engineering services in a remote hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and maintain high‑tension (HT) and low‑tension (LT) electrical distribution, including panels, MDBs, SMDBs, capacitor banks, busbars and control panels.
• Manage transformer and sub‑station operations, perform oil level checks, insulation testing and coordinate annual servicing.
• Oversee diesel generator (DG) performance, automatic synchronization, fuel management and routine load testing.
• Direct HVAC system upkeep covering AHUs, FAUs, air‑washers, kitchen ventilation, exhaust fans, pressurisation fans, split‑AC and VRF/VRV units.
• Ensure proper operation of the sewage treatment plant (STP) and water treatment plant (WTP), including preventive maintenance and compliance with local regulations.
• Monitor power quality, voltage fluctuations, harmonics and electrical safety, preparing preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment.
• Maintain detailed logs, records and compliance documentation for all MEP assets.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing MEP systems for hotels or large commercial facilities.
• Ability to work independently at a remote site while ensuring uninterrupted guest services.
• Strong knowledge of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) standards and local regulatory requirements.
