Business Taxation Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Business Taxation Accountant with strong knowledge of Australian taxation and accounting practices. The role involves preparing tax returns, financial statements, and compliance reports for Australian clients while ensuring adherence to ATO requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and lodge Personal Income Tax Returns (PITR) and Company Tax Returns (CTR).
• Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).
• Handle GST calculations, reporting, and compliance requirements.
• Prepare year‑end financial statements for individuals, companies, and trusts.
• Ensure compliance with Australian tax legislation, ATO regulations, and lodgement deadlines.
• Assist senior accountants with tax reviews, compliance matters, and client inquiries.
• Maintain accurate financial records and client documentation.
• Coordinate with Australian clients and internal team members to ensure timely completion of work.

Required profile

• Semi‑qualified CA, ACCA Affiliate/Finalist, or equivalent accounting qualification.
• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience in an Australian accounting or taxation practice.
• Practical experience preparing PITR, CTR, BAS, and IAS.
• Strong understanding of Australian taxation laws, GST, and ATO compliance requirements.
• Experience preparing financial statements for individuals, companies, and trusts.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Xero or MYOB accounting software.
