Chief Operating Officer & Business Development Manager

About the role

GECC is seeking a senior leader who will act as both Chief Operating Officer and Business Development Manager. Reporting directly to the CEO, the incumbent will shape the company’s operational strategy, drive growth initiatives and ensure high‑performing teams deliver results.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the CEO to define and execute the organisational vision, operational strategy and hiring plans.
• Translate strategic goals into actionable initiatives, including annual operations planning, performance management and goal setting.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operations, HR, accounting and collaborate on sales management to secure investment capital for growth.
• Identify process improvements, manage capital expenditures and monitor performance through tracking tools.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, professional development and retention programmes to build an inclusive culture.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant national and local regulations.
• Develop and implement a business development strategy that expands market reach, strengthens client relationships and drives revenue growth.
• Maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Extensive executive‑level experience in operations and/or business development within the relevant industry.
• Proven track record of leading high‑performing teams and delivering measurable growth.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into strategic actions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, capital investments and compliance requirements.
