About the role

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will provide strategic and operational leadership for a leading financial institution in Nepal. Reporting to senior executives, the COO is responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the execution of the institution’s strategic priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee banking operations to improve efficiency, productivity, service quality, and cost effectiveness.
• Lead process improvement initiatives, digital transformation, and automation projects.
• Ensure robust internal controls, risk management, governance, and regulatory compliance.
• Strengthen customer service, financial inclusion, and accessibility of banking services.
• Monitor organizational performance against key priorities and implement corrective actions.
• Develop, mentor, and retain high‑performing teams while building a strong leadership pipeline.
• Provide strategic advice to senior executives on operational performance, risks, opportunities, and priorities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Management, Economics, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in recognized banks or financial institutions in Nepal.
• Age between 25 and 50 years.
• Proven track record in senior operational leadership within the banking sector.
