Commis – Kitchen Support Role

About the role

Accor is seeking an enthusiastic Commis to join its culinary team in Kathmandu, Nepal. You will support kitchen operations and help deliver exceptional dining experiences for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and cooking dishes under senior chefs' guidance.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and follow food safety standards.
• Store and rotate food items to ensure freshness and reduce waste.
• Help with inventory management and restocking supplies.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff for timely, efficient service.
• Learn and apply proper food presentation techniques.
• Participate in menu development and recipe testing as directed.
• Prepare mise en place for daily service and operate kitchen equipment safely.

Required profile

• Passion for cooking and the culinary arts.
• Ability to work effectively in a high‑pressure, team‑oriented environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and adjusting recipes.
