Data Quality Assurance Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Data Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our data systems. The role involves validating large, complex datasets, creating test data, and verifying data processing logic across analytics applications. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and analysts to maintain high data quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review requirements, specifications, and data logic design documents and provide feedback.
• Write and execute complex SQL queries to validate data correctness.
• Use Python for test data creation, data analysis, automation, and pipeline validation.
• Prepare test datasets and expected outputs to verify data processing logic.
• Conduct data validation, reconciliation, regression, and integration testing across multiple systems.
• Work with open‑source SQL engines, interpret documentation, and ensure proper integration.
• Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations, including HIPAA.
• Identify, document, and track data‑related defects and validate fixes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes for data‑focused projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Information Management or a related field.
• Minimum 2 + years of experience in Data QA or Data Engineering QA roles.
• Experience with US Healthcare data is a plus.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced SQL proficiency (complex queries, joins, aggregations, performance optimization).
• Strong Python skills for data analysis, test data generation, and automation.
• Data analysis expertise for large datasets and anomaly detection.
• Experience with open‑source SQL engines and interpreting their documentation.
