Educational Counselor

About the role

UpEducation Consultancy is seeking a full‑time Educational Counselor to join our Kathmandu office. You will work directly with students and their families, guiding them through study‑abroad options, application procedures, and visa processes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct individual counseling sessions to assess academic background, career goals, and study preferences.
• Assist students with application preparation, documentation, and submission.
• Support admission and visa processes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date student records.
• Stay informed about international education systems, scholarships, and admission requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams, participate in education events, and contribute to outreach initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of educational consulting and international education systems.
• Proven experience in student counseling, academic advising, or career counseling.
• Mandatory TITI Certification (Training Institute for Technical Instruction).
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Management, Business, or a related field.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple student cases and meet application deadlines.
• Understanding of student visa procedures and admission processes is highly desirable.
• Previous experience in an educational consultancy or student recruitment environment is preferred.
• Commitment to ethical counseling practices and student success.
