Engineering Expert and Technical Coordinator

About the role

The Engineering Expert and Technical Coordinator will support the Local Infrastructure Support Programme (LISP) in Nepal, working from Lumbini and travelling extensively to local governments. The role focuses on translating local infrastructure needs into practical technical assistance and ensuring effective delivery of short‑term assignments.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and translate local government support requests into clear, systems‑focused scopes of work.
• Collaborate with the Technical Response Team Lead and Deputy Team Lead to develop detailed terms of reference for short‑term technical assistance (STTA).
• Track STTA delivery, facilitate debriefings, capture lessons learned and contribute to reporting and policy engagement.
• Support the refinement of Improved Modality Guidelines through field testing and feedback.
• Coordinate with provincial liaison engineers and specialists to ensure alignment with institutional strengthening objectives.

Required profile

• At least 7 years (84 months) of experience in engineering, infrastructure delivery, or technical coordination.
• Proven experience working with local or provincial governments, especially in infrastructure projects.
• Excellent analytical and writing skills to produce high‑quality scopes of work and terms of reference.
• Ability to travel frequently (up to 50% of time) and work on‑site in remote locations.
