About the role
The Field Support Engineer will provide on‑site engineering support for the Local Infrastructure Support Programme (LISP) in Nepal, travelling to Lumbini and Karnali to assist local governments in strengthening infrastructure systems.
Key responsibilities
- Support specialist experts during demand‑led technical assistance assignments, including technical assessments, site visits and coaching.
- Provide follow‑up engineering support after specialist missions to ensure implementation of recommendations.
- Coach local government technical staff on system‑strengthening actions.
- Coordinate field activities, hands‑on coaching and mentoring with participating local governments and programme staff.
- Monitor progress, report implementation issues and capture lessons learned.
Required profile
- Minimum of 5 years (60 months) relevant engineering experience.
- Experience working with local government or public sector infrastructure projects.
- Willingness to travel frequently within Nepal.
